Jasmine Fae Chapter 14: Plans

“Please, just one more. I threw up the last one.” I begged the scientist closest to me.

“You know I can’t.” She sighed, visibly annoyed with my pestering. I didn’t have a choice though, I was being deprived of blood. I don’t know if they were doing it purposely or on accident, but either way I needed more blood. Even when I did get blood, my stomach was so upset lately I usually threw it up within a few minutes. It was the worst possible time to get sick.

“Please, do you want me to die?” It was a cheap card to play, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

“I’m trying to work here, Mutt. Leave me alone.” I could tell by the sound of her voice that she was sneering.

I was about to snap back at her, but a wave of nausea stopped me. The vomit rose in my throat, I had to cover my mouth to keep it from spewing everywhere. Luckily the toilet was only a few steps away.

After I finished vomiting the little blood I had left in my stomach, I lent against the wall of the small bathroom. I had never felt that weak in my entire life. My body was sore all over, I felt like I’d been hit by a truck. I wish I had been, at least that way I’d have died quickly.

“Pst, Mutt.” A male’s voice called from beside me. I turned my head slightly to see the male vampire standing next to my cage.

“What?” I whispered back, trying not to attract the attention of the other people in the room.

He reached inside his labcoat, and for a second I thought he was pulling a gun on me. But instead of a weapon, he pulled a blood box out. He set it inside my cage and smiled at me.

“Why?” I asked, I didn’t understand why this man was trying to help me.

“Just drink.” He demanded, before swiftly walking away.

Even though it was sketchy, I didn’t question him any further. I drank the blood as if it were the last thing I’d ever drink. It could have been, for all I knew. The blood didn’t take long to finish. As soon as I crumpled up the packet and threw it to the floor I felt like I needed more.

But I had a feeling I wouldn’t be getting any more for a while. The only thing I could do to ignore my nagging thirst was to sleep. So I collapsed on my bed and drifted off, I found myself sleeping more often as of late.

When I woke up, all the lights were still on so I knew it was still day time. I wasn’t sure how much time had passed, but I never really knew anymore.

My eyes were barely open and I laid as still as I could. When I was asleep, the scientists would talk about me in the room, instead of in the hallway. So every time I woke up, I’d try and fake sleep for a while to try and get some information. I hadn’t gotten much so far, but I knew it would happen soon.

“Sir, we just got the results back on it’s bloodwork.” The female vampire spoke to one of the humans. From my time here I noticed the humans were in charge, and the vampires were inferior. Typical.

“Well, what’re the results?” The man snapped at her. It was obvious he was in a bad mood.

“We think it might be pregnant, Sir.” She said quietly. I almost choked on my own spit. How could I be pregnant?

“What? How could it be pregnant?” The man’s thoughts mirrored mine. In all honesty I wasn’t even sure I could get pregnant. I thought that my mixed status would make it difficult for me to conceive. I guess not.

“We aren’t sure, Sir. What should we do?”

“First we need to be absolutely sure it’s pregnant. Then we need to find out who fathered it, there aren’t any other Mutts in existence so it must be Fae or vampire. They need to be punished. I will go alert the authorities now.” I heard his footsteps rush out of the room.

Well shit, here I was locked in a cage like an animal, and I find out I’m pregnant with my rapist’s baby. There was no way it was Ash’s, I hadn’t seen him in months. Only Hawthorn could’ve been the father. I was screwed.

One night when I was working late, I snuck into the room that held Jasmine’s cage. Today the entire building was buzzing with the news of her pregnancy. I was a little hurt when I found out, I knew she was seeing Hawthorn, but I never thought she would sleep with him. That’s when I realized she didn’t, she never would have. I came to the conclusion that he raped her. He’s always had an abusive personality. It didn’t surprise me, but I still felt awful for Jasmine. I wanted to be there for her, I couldn’t do that for her when she was stuck in a cage.

I took a seat on the ground to get a better glimpse at Jasmine’s face. She was still bruised from Hawthorn’s punch, and she had cuts on her face that I assumed were from her arrest.

Jasmine wasn’t going to spend any more time here than necessary. I decided to move my plan up, originally I was going to wait until I changed the law but since the pregnancy, I couldn’t wait anymore. This place was only going to hurt her, and her baby.

After staying there for almost half an hour, I decided I should get going. If anyone found me here, I’d get in huge trouble and I’d never be able to get her out.

Before I left, I snuck some blood packets under her bed. Since it was my idea to starve her, I felt responsible. She was going to need her strength for tomorrow.

*The next night*

The board meeting the day after the discovery of Jasmine’s pregnancy was intense. No one could come to an agreement, everyone had different ideas. Some of them wanted to abort the baby, and pretend it never happened. More of them wanted to let her have the baby, so they could find out who the father was and punish him. Another part of them wanted to keep the baby so they could experiment on it too. I kept my mouth shut for the majority of the meeting.

But what none of them realized, was that none of their plans would happen. They had no idea I had a plan of my own.

I took my father’s gun from the conference room. My plan was to break Jasmine out and get her as far from here as possible so she could raise her baby in peace.

Jasmine Fae Chapter 13: The Real Monsters

A/N Sorry this chapter took so long, I’ve been a little uninspired lately. But I was able to upload Ivy and Jasmine to the exchange, and I reuploaded River. You can find the links on the Download a Fae Heir/Heiress page! Thanks for the reads everyone!

The majority of the first few days, I was completely ignored. They’d occasionally give me food or water, but other than that all I did was sit in the corner of the room and watch them. It wasn’t very interesting, whenever they needed to talk about me they’d leave the room. I only ever saw them fiddling with the machines. It was boring, but I knew this wouldn’t last long.

“Aye, Mutt, come on.” The female human scientist called for me. This was exactly what I was afraid of. I was going to be the subject of the experiments today, instead of just samples of my DNA. I gulped as I pulled myself off the floor and headed for the opening in the cage.

I followed her to a strange machine in the corner of the room.

“Sit.” She directed. I obliged, after hearing about Uncle Basil’s experience with scientists, I didn’t want to risk anything. Being tested was painful enough without physical injuries.

I remember sitting through F.R.O. meetings, listening to Uncle Basil tell his stories about his time with the scientists. I always thought he was exaggerating, I never thought anyone could be that cruel. But since I was caught, I knew he wasn’t and I felt awful about doubting him.

I leaned back in the chair and tried to relax. My hands were shaking, I was terrified this was going to hurt. Asking if it would hurt would be a terrible idea, so I kept my mouth shut while the woman pressed buttons on the machine.

She pulled the hood of the machine over my head and almost immediately little bolts of electricity struck me. It was painful, I gripped the arm rests of the chair to keep myself from screaming.

The woman either didn’t notice my pain or chose to ignore it. She just took notes on her clipboard, occasionally glancing at the screen on the machine. I don’t know what happened, but I could feel my body start to go limp. My grip loosened, my arms fell from the rests.

The scientist then pushed a few more buttons of the machine, and it whirled to a stop. She lifted the hood and I tried to pull myself up, but I was weak. The woman grabbed my arm and roughly pulled me off the chair.

She dragged me back over to my cage. She shoved me into the cage, I stumbled slightly but I didn’t fall.

“Don’t get too comfortable, we’re not done with you.” She said, before spinning on her heel and leaving.

I staggered over to my bed and pulled my knees to my chest. I felt dizzy and nauseous. I couldn’t believe this was actually happening to me. Things like this only happened in nightmares.

I cried, I don’t know how long it had been since the woman shocked me with the machine. It could’ve been minutes, or it could’ve been hours. I wasn’t sure, everything was a blur.

That’s when I saw him. An unfamiliar movement from the hallway caught my eye, and I looked up just in time to catch a glimpse. I couldn’t be certain, but I was almost positive the person who walked by was Dimitri. Maybe I wasn’t going to die here after all. I could only hope.

Since I was working in the building that day, I couldn’t help but walk past the room that held Jasmine. I missed her, I wanted her to be back home with me. As I walked past the room, I couldn’t help but glance in there. She was sitting on her bed, her face in her hands. From the few seconds I glanced at her, I could tell she was crying.

I walked to the end of the hallway and sat against the wall. It was one thing to imagine what Jasmine was going through, it was an entirely different thing to actually see it. My chest felt tight and I thought I would vomit. This was my fault. I was the one who got her the job at the club. I was the one who didn’t get her out of there when she was in danger.

This entire thing was my fault. I shouldn’t have even brought her to my house the day she arrived. I should’ve shoved her back into her boat and forced her to go home. Even though I knew it wasn’t safe for her here I let her stay. All because I had a stupid little crush on her. Now my crush was costing her her life.

How could I be so selfish? Now because of me, she was getting tortured and questioned. I couldn’t let this continue anymore. My original plan was to take over for my father and change the laws to make things more Fae friendly. It wouldn’t change things right away, but it would be a start. But it was too late for that. Jasmine would die soon if I didn’t do something, they’d test her to death. I had to act fast.

That’s when I came up with my plan. It was risky, people could die, but I needed to get her out of here. She didn’t deserve this, these people were the real monsters here. They were the ones who should be locked up, who should be killed. I could lose my life too, but it was worth it to save her. After all, it was my fault she was in there. Dying for her safety is the least I could do.

“Our sources confirmed that the supernatural being caught in Bridgeport is a hybrid. They say it’s half-vampire and half-fairy. We haven’t been able to get any footage, they are keeping it in a high security science facility, only staff are allowed inside. Hopefully there will be more updates on this situation soon. Back to you, Andrew.”

My family had been watching the news, a town called Bridgeport captured someone matching the description of my sister. Ever since she left so many months ago, we haven’t heard anything from her. Apparently she landed in another experiment town, and got herself captured.

My parents were absolutely devastated. Neither of them had wanted her to go on this expedition. But my sister was stubborn, and suicidal, so there was no stopping her.

“Oh River, I-I can’t believe our baby is locked up. I c-can’t even imagine the pain she’s g-going through, a-after what Basil told us.” My mom sobbed into my dad’s shoulder.

“Shh, it might not even be her. There’s no way to know for sure.” My dad tried to comfort her, but I could tell even he didn’t believe what he was saying. We all knew it was Jazz in that science facility.

My twin sister, Iris hadn’t said anything throughout this whole ordeal. She was usually a very bubbly girl, always chatting or texting someone about something. Right now, she was crying. I can’t remember the last time my sister cried. She hadn’t even cried when Jazz left.

I wasn’t crying or questioning the situation. Instead, I was annoyed. Why should we give a crap about what my idiotic sister got herself into? She was the one who left, she was the one who went against what the humans wanted for us.

Ever since I was little, I never understood my family. I never really got why they were so against humans, when all they did was give us shelter. Sure, they were cruel to some of us at one point, but they weren’t anymore. At least not to the people who didn’t try and escape. Things for us could be a lot worse, I don’t think my family realizes that. Here, we can’t get hurt by any other supernatural beings. It’s just us.

The humans knew what was best for us. They were doing this to protect us, if we were still on our own we could’ve been torn apart by wolves or djinn by now. My family never realized how much the humans have helped us. They’ve just been dwelling on the past.

I couldn’t take it anymore. I couldn’t handle my family crying over this idiot. She wasn’t our problem anymore. We should just live our lives, without wanting to break free from the humans. That’s what they want for us, they want us to be happy.

I stormed out of the room, my families sobbing was becoming too much. They didn’t even notice me leave, they were all too wrapped up in their own grief. I didn’t mind, they’ve never really paid much attention to me. I’ve always felt like they didn’t care about me. Maybe that’s why I’ve always been so interested in human culture, because they are the ones who really care about me.

I glared at my parents as I walked past them. I knew one day, I’d be working alongside the humans. I wanted to help them catch people like my parents, people who were looking to rebel, and punish them.

I couldn’t wait until my family got what they deserved.

Jasmine Fae Chapter 12: Caged

A sharp, throbbing pain from the side of my head pulled me out of my sleep. I groaned and rolled over, expecting my bed to be a lot larger. Instead, I ended up with bars in my face.

“What the hell?” I complained under my breath.

It took me a moment to fully wake up. When I did, I pulled myself into a sitting position and looked around the room. Obviously I wasn’t at the apartment, but I didn’t recognize this place at all.

That’s when I remembered what happened at work. The man called the authorities on me, and now I must be in some kind of facility.

The bars I fell into surrounded me on all sides, I was locked in a cage. All that was in there was the bed and a small bathroom. After looking over the cage I looked around the room. I wasn’t alone. There were four scientists or doctors, I’m not really sure what they were. But I did notice that two of them were human, and two were vampire.

“Excuse me?” I climbed off the bed and tried to get the attention of the nearest person. The human man closest to me came over to the cage.

“Where am I?”

“Bridgeport Science Facility.” He explained with an annoyed expression, as if I magically should’ve known this.

“Why am I here?”

“Isn’t it obvious? You’re the only Hybrid supernatural we’ve ever encountered. We can’t just have you walking around without knowing what you’re capable of.” He spun on his heel and got back to his work without another word.

No. No. This can’t be happening. I thought to myself. My hands covered my eyes, I was worried I would cry. I felt like my entire world had crashed down on me. Everything I ever had was gone, I knew I’d never see my family again. I was going to die here, they’d experiment on me until they kill me. There’s no possible way out of this.

I couldn’t keep myself together after that. My sobs were loud and gross, but I didn’t even give a shit. My life was over, I had to spent the rest of my days being poked and prodded and sleeping in a cage. I had every right to break down.

None of the scientists even flinched at the sound of my screams. They didn’t do anything, they let me scream until my throat was raw and my voice was practically gone. Even after I stopped, they never bothered to check on me. They just continued to do whatever it was they were doing.

“What exactly are we doing, Sir?” My father had called me to a meeting at the Science Facility, the place where they were holding Jasmine. No one knew where she came from, no one knew that she’d been living with me prior to her being captured. I was nervous someone would find out, I knew if my cover was blown before I put my plan into action, I’d be completely screwed.

“Video call, I just need to talk to you and your brother first.” He paced the front of the room nervously.

“Christian’s gonna be here?”

“Yes, he’ll be here any second.”

As is on cue, my arrogant little brother strode into the room as if he owned the place. After his eighteenth birthday, Christian became the world biggest asshole. He was so cocky, he acted like he was the greatest thing that’s ever happened to the world. It was so obnoxious.

“Sorry I’m late, Father.” He walked over to the table we were at and slid into the seat across from me.

“Father, is this about the Mutt we’ve captured?” He sneered, the word ‘Mutt’ was emphasized with hatred.

“It is, since it was our council that caught it, we’re the ones who get to decide what to do with it.” My father explained bluntly. I felt my anger rise in my throat at him for calling Jasmine an it. She was a person who deserved rights, she didn’t deserve to be locked in a cage like she was.

But I couldn’t get angry at them, I had to pretend to be on their side. It was killing me though, the longer I played along with them, the longer Jasmine had to endure the painful experiments the scientists were performing.

“What are we going to do with… it?” I asked, hesitating slightly when calling Jasmine an it.

“Well, I’m not sure yet. I was going to ask you boys before the video call with Carson.” He explained. Carson was the leader of the vampire council in Starlight Shores, yet another experiment town.

“Isn’t it obvious? We can’t let this thing live, we don’t know what it’s capable of. Who knows what powers it may posses. That thing could kill us, for all we know.” Christian told us, as if we were children.

“What powers could it possibly have?”

“We don’t know, and what if we find out too late? It’s got both vampire and fairy blood, they are both very powerful beings.”

“Fairies are hardly beings, Christian.” My father scolded. “This thing is a monster, yes. But if we kill it, we won’t know what it’s capable of. The humans might get angry. They would want a super-occult, for their armies or whatever it is they need them for. If we destroyed it without finding out, we could lose everything.”

I hated myself for what I was about to suggest, but if I didn’t suggest something they might get suspicious. Jasmine never really told me about her powers, but I did know that she needed to drink blood and eat regular food. I also knew that vampire’s get their strength from blood.

“Well, we could always try starving her. We know that we vampires need blood to power our powers, so maybe if we don’t give her too much blood, she can’t hurt us for the time being, but still keep her alive.” Suggesting we practically starve her was the worst thing I’ve ever done. I felt awful, but I needed to keep her alive. Yes, she’d be weak, but she’d be alive. That’s all I needed.

My father cocked his head at me. I bit my lip nervously and hoped I hadn’t given anything away. But when a small smile crept across his face, I knew I had suggested a good idea. To him anyway.

“Dimitri, that’s brilliant. We’ll have to explain that to Carson.”

“Yes sir.”

“Now, let’s call Carson.” He smiled, while programming what he needed into the remote.

“Hello Bryce.” Carson’s figure popped up on the screen a few seconds later.

“Hello Carson, we’ve got a few updates on the Mutt.” My family explained excitedly.

“Good, let me hear them.”

I tuned them out while my father explained my idea to Carson. Even though I was a part of this, I couldn’t help but be disgusted with them. They were talking about Jasmine as if she were an object, not a living, breathing being. The only reason they were planning on keeping her alive was so they wouldn’t piss off the human government. They only wanted to know about her powers and what she could do with them, and if they could recreate her and form an army.

It really sucked being the only one who actually gave a shit about someone else’s well-being.

Jasmine Fae Chapter 11: What Are You?

A/N Sorry this chapter is short, I didn’t think it needed anything else. Also, I’ve been posting some random Fae Family facts and stuff on my blog. Keep watch, I’ll be posting more in the next day or so.

Tonight was the first night of my boss’s new rule. Dimitri’s idea wasn’t completely fool-proof, but it was our only hope right now. I was doing my best to make myself unattractive, but also provocative enough to not get fired. It was not an easy task. I figured the men would like the girls with the long, flowing hair or the girls with the sassy short hair. So I put mine into a complicated bun/braid style. I’ve heard men like simple hairstyles, and I was hoping what I heard wasn’t false.

I was almost finished getting ready when the front door opened. Since both guys were starting their shift soon, I didn’t know which one it was. Hawthorn hadn’t talked to me since the incident, and I was trying my best to avoid him. I stayed quiet as I heard footsteps enter the apartment, I knew if it was Dimitri he’d be in here soon.

“Hello? Anyone home?” A woman’s voice called out into the apartment. I didn’t recognize her voice, and I freaked out.

I don’t really know why I reacted like I did. I immediately dropped to the floor and covered my face. Whoever was in the house must’ve heard me, I started to whimper like a child when I fell to the floor.

“Are you okay?” I didn’t hear her enter the room, but there she was, leaning against my door.

“W-who are you?” I looked up at her from between my fingers. She was a vampire, with long orange and red hair. She was purple, and her eyes reminded me of someone, I couldn’t quite place them in that moment.

“Sydney Todds, Dimitri’s little sister.” She told me.

“He isn’t home yet.” I pulled myself off the ground after realizing how ridiculous I looked.

“Do you know when he will be?” She asked calmly, as if our interaction wasn’t illegal.

I shook my head. “Aren’t you going to freak out?” I was curious to know why she wasn’t upset that her brother was hiding a hybrid in his spare bedroom.

“Of course not, I’ve known about this for a while now.”

“Yea, Dimitri called me after you arrived. But don’t worry, I’m trustworthy.” She explained with a smile.

“B-but why? Isn’t your father in charge? Why don’t you have the same views as him?”

“None of us do, except Christian. I guess we’re all just tired of living in such an awful place, y’know?” I nodded, it made sense.

“So, Dimitri talks about me?” I couldn’t help but wonder what he said about me.

“Yea, like all the time. He’s pretty fond of you.” She winked, making me blush slightly.

“Yea, probably shouldn’t have said that.” She giggled, not really regretting what she said. Does this mean Dimitri likes me? Do I even like him?

“Uh, he should be home in a few minutes, we have a shift at the bar tonight.” I fiddled with the hem of my tank-top and avoided eye contact. I was already nervous about tonight before she got here.

“Alright, I’ll just wait here.” She smiled at me before flopping down on my bed, leaving me to get ready.

The outfit I wore to work that night was as conservative as I could get without getting in trouble. It was also mismatched and strange, hopefully scaring off the more pretentious patrons. Even my sunglasses were the ugliest pair I could find.

But after an hour of dancing, I realized I was the only girl left dancing. All the others had been taken into the bedrooms. Unfortunately for me, there were still customers watching, and things did not look good for me.

As I was dancing, I noticed a man looking at me intently. I almost fell when I realized who he was. He was the man from my first night here, the one who killed the girl in the alley. As I swung around the pole, I made eye-contact with him on more than one occasion.

When we made eye-contact for more than a few seconds, he gestured at me to come over. My hands started to sweat as I climbed down from the pole and made my way over to him.

“Hey sweet thang.” He grinned at me creepily and grabbed my arm. “You’re coming with me.”

My hands were shaking. There was no way he wouldn’t notice my fear, but I doubt he even cared. I just hoped he wouldn’t get suspicious, and I hoped he would let me keep my glasses on.

He didn’t say anything as he shoved me into the first unoccupied bedroom. My heart was practically pounding out of my chest, I bet he could hear it. I wondered if he would want to drink my blood while we had sex. If he did that, it would kill him. Vampire blood is poisonous to other vampires, and since I’m both, I would guess that my blood is too.

“Sit.” He pushed me hard against the bed, making me almost lose my balance.

“Take your glasses off.” He demanded while he unbuttoned his pants. I gulped, I was completely screwed.

“I-I can’t.”

“What?” He spat angrily.

“I have sensitive eyes.” I lied. It was all I could come up with. His mouth twisted into a snarl.

“I don’t fucking care, take the damn glasses off.” I shook my head. That angered him, and he lunged at me. He threw my glasses off and at the wall. I heard them shatter and fall to the ground.

He threw himself onto me, he hadn’t noticed my eyes yet. I tried to bury my face into the blanket, then he grabbed my head and turned it to face him. Keeping my eyes shut was my last option.

“Open you’re damn eyes, girl.” He snapped. I slowly opened my eyes, once again making eye-contact with the man.

“What the fuck?” He said aloud. “What are you?”

I didn’t answer him. I struggled against him, trying to push him off me. Somehow I managed to throw him off me for a few seconds. It was enough to get off the bed.

I started to run, but I wasn’t fast enough in my heels. The man knocked me off my feet and sent me flying to the ground.

“What the fuck are you?” He was screaming now, if it weren’t for the thumping music from the bar, people would be concerned. I didn’t answer him. I knew it was only making him angrier, but my grave was already dug. I could dig deeper and deeper but I’d still be dead.

The man threw me into the corner of the room. He stood in front of me, blocking me from running out the door. He pulled out his cell phone, and in that moment I knew it was all over. I was a goner.

“Yes, hello? Hi, I’ve got something the vampire council might be interested in.” He spoke into the receiver without even looking back at me. “It’s a vampire fairy hybrid, I’ve never seen anything like it.” There was a pause, then he gave the address to the operator and hung up.

The man didn’t say anything, he just stood there staring at the door anxiously. It was like he was scared to be near me.

“Is this the room with the Mutt?” An officer poked his head into the room not long after the initial call.

“Yes, it’s right here.” He stepped back and pointed at me. The officer ran at me and aggressively pulled me away from the wall.

Without another word, the officer pinned me to the ground and handcuffed me.

I’m not sure what happened next, there was just a loud smack, a sharp pain on the left side of my head, and then blackness.

Jasmine Fae Chapter 10: Storm

I couldn’t sleep that night. The feeling of his aggressive hands wouldn’t leave my body. My body felt dirty, I felt used. Every time I shut my eyes I saw his face. I saw the expression he made as he forced himself into me. He looked pleased with himself. He looked like he was having fun. I doubt he even regretted what he did.

There was no way I could stay here anymore. My life was in danger no matter what I did, but my best bet would be to get back in my boat and leave. If I stayed, Hawthorn would eventually kill me, or I’d get caught by the authorities. Who knows what they’d do to me there.

But leaving here could also kill me. I was lucky last time, there was no guarantee I’d be as fortunate this time. There were so many things that could go wrong. My boat could capsize, I could run out of food, or I might not even find Sunset Valley. I didn’t have a compass or any other type of thing to guide me there. I found Bridgeport by chance, and there was no possible way I could be so lucky again.

If I did leave, what would I tell Dimitri? Just yesterday I told him I would stay, that Hawthorn’s abuse was something I could manage. I couldn’t just change my mind randomly, he’d get suspicious. Telling him what Hawthorn had done to me wasn’t an option either.

What was I going to do? Many months ago I would’ve loved to be in this situation, where no matter what I did I’d have a chance of dying. That wasn’t the case anymore. I’d forgiven myself for what happened. My suicidal thoughts were gone, now they were replaced with thoughts of survival.

“Hey.” Dimitri open poked his head in my room. “Can I come in?”

“Sure.” As soon as I responded he hurried into my room and shut the door.

“Are you doing okay? I heard about what happened last night.” Last night? Did he find out about what Hawthorn had done to me? No, he wouldn’t be so calm. He’d be up in arms about it, asking me if I was okay or if I needed any help.

He had to be talking about something else. But what? I could barely remember what happened last night. All I did was go to work and come home before it happened. Wait, work! He was talking about the new job requirement the boss gave me.

“I’m nervous.” Was all I managed to choke out after a moment of silence.

“What are we gonna do?” He sat down on the bed next to me. His use of ‘we’ made me feel a tiny bit better, it was nice to know I wasn’t completely alone.

“I don’t know, but I don’t know if I can stay here anymore.” I admitted. Leaving was dangerous, but it was my best chance at surviving, it was also my only chance at seeing Ash again.

“That’s not a good idea Jazz.”

“Why not?” I asked skeptically. Just yesterday he was asking if I wanted to leave, now he was saying I shouldn’t?

“There’s a storm coming, the water’s aren’t safe right now.” His expression was hard to read, he almost looked happy about the storm.

“Shit, what do you suggest I do?”

“We could just keep you here, I’ll explain to Hawthorn that it’s not safe for you to work there. We could look for a different club for you to work at.” He suggested. The idea of not fulfilling the only living requirement Hawthorn had scared me. He and Dimitri had different nights off, and if I wasn’t working there would be nights when Hawthorn and I had the apartment to ourselves. There was no telling what he’d to do me with extended periods of alone time.

“No. I wouldn’t feel safe if you weren’t working besides me.”

“Well, the sex is only by request, so maybe if we make you less desirable, you won’t get many requests.” He suggested. The idea was actually a pretty good one, it wouldn’t work forever but it would buy us some time.

“I guess it wouldn’t hurt to give it a try.”

The next day we were on edge. Both of us had shifts tomorrow night, and we weren’t entirely confident in our plan. Many of our patrons were fat, balding, unmarried men. They’d fuck anything with a pulse. Making me look undesirable to those men wasn’t a fool-proof plan. To try and ease our tension, the two of us tried to watch a movie. I don’t think either of us were paying attention though. There was too much on the line right now to enjoy it.

The movie wasn’t even a good one, and as I started zoning out I glanced out the window. I did a double-take, my eyes practically bulged out of my head. There were little white flakes falling from the sky like rain. I’ve never seen anything like it.

“What the hell?” I swung around and looked out the window. Thousands of white flakes fell from the sky, collecting on the ground and making everything white. Dimitri looked out the window after me and smiled.

“Oh, it’s snowing.”

“What the hell does that mean?”

“It’s basically frozen water flakes. I’m guessing it doesn’t snow in Sunset Valley?” He asked with a chuckle.

“No, I’ve never seen anything like this before.” I gazed out the window, not caring that my awe was childish.

“Well go put on some warm clothes, let’s go play in it.” Dimitri gave me a mischievous smile before taking off down the hallway.

It wasn’t long before Dimitri and I were running out of the elevator and into the snow. My feet were completely buried in the stuff and I felt like my toes were freezing off, but I haven’t felt so free in a long time. Dimitri stuck his tongue out to catch some flakes, and I couldn’t help but imitate him.

It took a few minutes for our euphoria to burn out, but as soon as it did I remembered where we were.

“Dimitri, is it safe for us to be out here?” I jogged over to him, almost slipping multiple times.

“It’s a week day, everyone’s at work. And if they’re not, they won’t come outside due to the snow. We’re safe, I promise.”

“If you say so.” I sighed and glanced around nervously. I trusted him, but I still couldn’t help but feel exposed and unsafe.

“C’mon, let’s make snow angels.” He giggled girlishly and fell back into the snow. I watched as he waved his arms and legs back and forth ridiculously.

He looked so stupid, I couldn’t help but join in. Although it was freezing and I felt like my ass would fall off, I was having a lot of fun.

It only took us a few minutes to complete the snow angels. They weren’t perfect by any means, but we didn’t care.

“I think I’m gonna freeze to death.” I joked as I dusted snow off my jacket.

“Yea, that happens.” He shook his hair out like a dog, sending bits of snow all over.

We spent some time just running around and throwing snow at each other until it started to get dark.

“Shouldn’t we get inside? People are gonna start getting out of work soon.” I asked, slightly breathless from the running we’d been doing.

“Nah, we’ll be okay for a few minutes. There’s just one more thing I wanna do.”

“What?” He didn’t respond, he just walked to a spot of snow we hadn’t touched yet.

“Here, help me.” He started to pull a bunch of snow into a pile. I didn’t exactly understand what he was doing, but I followed his lead anyway.

“What are we doing?” I asked, after a few minutes of piling snow.

“Be patient, Jazz.” He laughed. I chucked a handful of snow at him.

“Fine.” I huffed and continued making whatever it was.

“There.” Dimitri placed a top hat on the figure.

“What is it?”

“It’s a snowman. I used to make them all the time when I was a kid.” He smiled.

“It doesn’t look like a man.” I stated, making him giggle and shake his head.

“Come on, let’s go warm up.” He wrapped his arm around my shoulders and guided me inside, the two of us laughing about our day in the snow.

All the fun almost made me forget last night. Almost.

Jasmine Fae Chapter 9: Have a Nice Night

Warning: There are some traumatic event’s coming up, read at your own risk.

I picked myself up off the floor and ran out of Hawthorn’s room as fast as I could. As soon as I was safely behind the door I grabbed a random shirt from my dresser and threw it on. If I was about to be found out by the authorities, I’d rather not be in my bra when it happened. Hawthorn was angry, I could hear him throwing things and punching the walls. I silently begged him to stop. He was scaring me, and the racket he was making would alert the neighbors.

While I was crouched near my dresser, I heard the front door open. I considered hiding under my bed, but ultimately it wasn’t worth it. It would just prolong things. The door slowly creaked open. I covered my eyes, I didn’t want to see whoever was there.

“Hey Jasmine, it’s okay, it’s me.” Dimitri slowly pulled my hands away from my face. I glanced around the room, making sure we were alone. “What the hell happened to your face?” He asked angrily.I gingerly touched the eye Hawthorn punched. It hurt to even touch, I could imagine it looked pretty bad. I didn’t make eye contact with him. I didn’t want to admit what happened.

“Jasmine, please, talk to me. Did Hawthorn do this to you?” I nodded and hiccuped from my sobbing.

“Oh god, I’m so sorry.” He pulled me off the floor and into a hug. “Jasmine, I’d completely understand if you want to leave.” I shook my head.

“No, I can’t leave now. I can’t let him win.” I whispered against his shoulder.

“I just don’t want you to get hurt again.”

“I won’t let him hurt me again.”

“I hate that you have to see me like this.” I muttered. I didn’t like looking weak in front of people.

“It’s okay, I understand.”

“Don’t worry Jasmine Blu, you’re too good for him.” He kissed me on the forehead. When I got here, I decided not to use my real last name, I didn’t want to bring my family into this. So I gave him my mom’s first husband’s last name, Blu. “I’m gonna take care of this, alright?”

“Don’t hurt him. You’ll just be down on his level.”

“I won’t, I promise.”

I didn’t have much time to mull over what happened with Hawthorn before I had to leave for work. Even though the club was practically empty tonight, our boss made as dance as if the place were packed. It was slightly annoying, putting all this effort into something and have no one watch, but we didn’t really have a say in it.

Luckily the night was coming to a close. I just wanted to go home and crawl into bed. I wanted to pretend like this day never happened. My eye was starting to hurt worse, I could barely concentrate on my dancing. Thankfully my sunglasses also covered the majority of my injury, it was practically unnoticeable under the black lights.

It wasn’t long before the bar owner closed for the night. The bartenders left immediately and the dancers all went back to the dressing room.

“Is it just me, or are we losing customers?” Candy, one of the dancers here, asked us as we all got ready to go home.

“No, there’s practically no one here anymore.” The other girl replied.

“Do you think they’re gonna start firing people?”

“I sure hope not, I suck at cleaning houses.” The second dancer, Jamie, sighed in annoyance.

“Me too. Dancing is what I’m good at.”

“What do you think they’re gonna do?”

“Hopefully nothing too drastic. I heard one club has started selling the dancers to people for feeders.”

“What do you think’s gonna happen, Jazz?” The dancer Jamie asked me.

“Dunno. Maybe it’s just a slow month, hopefully things will pick up soon before any changes are made.”

“Hey Jazz, why do you always wear those glasses?” Candy asked with a giggle.

“I think they make me look badass.” I answered nervously. I didn’t wanna get into this.

“You should take them off for a little while, I bet your eyes are gorgeous.”

“Hey ladies, announcement time.” Our creepy boss burst into the dressing room before I could respond to Candy. “As you might’ve noticed, we haven’t been doing so hot lately. So I’ve come up with a plan to get us some more business. You guy’s are gonna start having sex with the patrons for money, you’ll get to keep forty percent of the tips you make. Have a nice night.”

When he left, there was an eerie stillness in the room. No one moved, no one said anything, I don’t think anyone was even breathing.

I was completely screwed.

After the announcement my boss made, I rushed out of the club as fast as I could. I didn’t want the other girls to notice how nervous I was. Now that I had to sleep with the customers I was at an even greater risk of being caught. I couldn’t wear my sunglasses during sex, and even if I could they could fall off at any time.

As soon as I got home I got ready for bed. Hawthorn was already home and if I stayed up any later I knew I’d run into him. I really wasn’t in the mood to talk to anyone, especially not him.

“So I heard about the changes the boss made.” Hawthorn’s voice startled me, I didn’t realize he was behind me despite the large mirror Dimitri gave me. I guess my plan to avoid him failed miserably.

“What’s it to you?” Part of me knew I shouldn’t sass him, but I couldn’t let him treat me like shit.

“You’re mine. I don’t wanna share you.”

“I don’t belong to you, asshole.” I could see his nostrils flare with anger. I watched him ball and un-ball his fists. I knew he was furious with me, but I never expected him to do what he did next.

Hawthorn charged at me.  He covered my mouth with his hand and he twisted my arm behind me.

“You are mine, whether you like it or not.” He growled in my ear. I tried to scream, but his hand was covering my mouth. I also realized Dimitri wasn’t home yet, and if I screamed the neighbors would hear and I’d be toast. Either way I feared for my life.

He dragged me over to the bed and threw me onto it. It didn’t take me very long to figure out what he was about to do.

“Get the fuck off me.” I cried, thrashing my limbs around to get him off. But he was too strong for me, he wouldn’t budge.

“If you tell any one about this, especially Dimitri, I will kill you.” He threatened as he undid the buttons on his pants.

“Please don’t.” I begged him to stop, but it only made him more determined.

There was nothing I could do to stop him.

Jasmine Fae Chapter 8: Todds Manor

A/N Hey guys! Before this chapter, I changed my graphics setting, so everyone’s gonna look a little different from here on out. I’m still tweaking it, so expect a few minor graphics changes in the next post or so. But everyone looks so much better, it’s awesome even though it makes my game super slow. Totally worth it. Also, Dimitri and his family are from one of my just for fun legacies, and I decided to include them in this. Points to you if you can guess where the kid’s names come from. Now, enjoy the chapter 🙂

WARNING: Sims in only their underwear and slight abuse in this chapter, read at your own risk.

Todds Manor. My parent’s home, the place I grew up. It’s almost been a year since I’ve been here, it felt almost foreign to me. My family was ridiculously rich, they had more cars than actual family members. They had an entire room just filled with gems. I never really realized how insane it was until I got out of there.

When I left here, I promised myself I’d never come back. I hated my family, I never wanted anything to do with them ever again. But now, here I was. Coming back to ask the man I despised for a huge favor. I hated that I had to do this, I wasn’t one who liked swallowing his pride. But this wasn’t about me. This favor wasn’t for me.

I slowly approached the front door. I wasn’t sure if I’d even be welcomed back. They might just slam the door in my face. My parents were cold people, I could imagine them shutting out their own son. After a lot of deliberation, I finally just knocked on the door. Rejection was a high possibility.

“Dimitri?” Kristine stepped out of the house and closed the door behind her. Kristine was a Djinn, her kind were valued more than Fae, but less then Vampires. They were also a dying breed. So only the extremely rich families had Djinn’s working for them. But since they were so rare, they didn’t get much freedom. Kristine never got to leave our house, she was practically a slave to my family. Hopefully what I was about to do would help her.

“Hi Kristine, are my parents home?” I asked.

“Dimi, are you sure you wanna do this?” She whispered. “You got out, you’re free. You don’t have to be a part of this.”

“I don’t wanna do it. But this isn’t about me, this is about someone else.” I smiled sadly.

“Oh!” She smiled. “I get it. But still, is it worth it?”

“It’s worth it.”

“Alright, I’ll go get them. You can wait in the living room, everyone else is in there.”

Three out of four of my siblings sat in the sunken living room. I hadn’t seen them in so long, they all looked so different.

“Hey guys.” I strolled into the living room casually. Mia paused the game and turned around. Once she knew it was me, she jumped up. I ran over to her and pulled her into a huge hug.

“Oh my god, Dimitri!” She squealed.

“How’ve you been?”

“I’ve been okay, you?”

“I’m doing alright.”

“Mia, don’t hog him!” Rose’s tiny little voice whined from behind us. She released me with a laugh.

“Sorry Rosie.”

“Hi Dimi!” She jumped up and down excitedly. She’s called me Dimi since she could speak, and now every time she said it I though of Jasmine. “I really missed you.” She told my sadly. I felt awful, I hated that I had to leave her but I couldn’t stay here anymore. Rose wasn’t like the rest of us, she wasn’t a vampire. But she also wasn’t Fae. My father was really into science at one point, and one of his experiments went weirdly wrong, resulting in a half-human half-plant baby. Even though she was so different from us, we all loved her. Except I think my mother was a little jealous of her, sometimes it seemed like my father loved Rose more than her. But that’s not Rose’s fault. It’s my fathers.

“I’m sorry, but I’m here now!” I picked her up and threw her over my shoulder. She cried out with laughter.

“Dimi! Put me down!” She yelled between laughs.

“Fine.” I chuckled as I set her on the ground. I ruffled her hair and turned to my brother.

“Hey Christian, how you been?” I asked. He glanced around the room, avoiding eye contact with me.

“That’s good. How’s school?”

“It’s okay.”

“Is everything alright man?” I asked, I wasn’t used to my brother being so cold to me. We weren’t the closest siblings, but we never hated each other.

“I gotta go.” He rushed out of the house before anyone could say anything else.

“What’s his deal?” I took a seat on the couch with the girls.

“He’s very pro-dad.” Mia explained with a disgusted look on her face. “He’s the one who’s taking over when Dad retires.”

“That explains it.” I sighed.

“Dimitri, is that really you?” My mom’s deep, dramatic voice asked from behind us. My mother hung off my father’s arm like a child. My mother was the heiress to my grandparent’s fortune. They built this family from the ground up. I loved them, even though they were really against Fae rights. But anyway, my father really only married my mother for her money and her family. When they married all she was allowed to be was a trophy wife.

“Hi Mom.” I smiled at them awkwardly.

“Girls, can you give us some privacy?” My father asked. The girls nodded and hurried out of the living room.

My parents replaced my sisters on the couch. I felt extremely uncomfortable near my father, I hadn’t seen him in person in over a year. Sure, he was all over the news, but I never had to talk to him then.

“So, why are you here?” My father asked. He was a no-nonsense kind of guy, he liked to cut right to the chase.

“You better not be asking for money, you did this to yourself.” He growled angrily.

“I was wondering if it wasn’t too late to get a job with you.” His face lit up.

“Really? You, Mister ‘Fae Should Have Rights Too’ want’s to work for the Vampire Council?” He said with a laugh. I nodded.

“Well son, welcome to the council.” He was beaming with pride. My stomach was knotted, I felt gross about what I was doing, and what it stood for. But this was my only option right now. I had to do this.

It’s been a few months since I moved in with Dimitri and Hawthorn. Not much had changed, I was still working at the club. Except I was a lot better at dancing now. I was also growing out my hair, the rocker girl hair was a little attention grabbing, and I wanted to blend in not stand out.

Bridgeport just wasn’t the place for me. I liked the guys I lived with, but I wasn’t happy here. I missed my family, I missed Ash. It wasn’t safe for me here either. So I decided I’d leave. My boat was tied up behind some trees on the outskirts of town, if I just get some food I could leave tomorrow. Dimitri was the first one I was telling, Hawthorn wasn’t home yet.

“Hey Dimi.” He was running on his treadmill when I walked in.

“What’s up Jazz?” He asked, never even glancing over at me.

I flopped down on his bed with an exasperated sigh. “Do you ever get tired of this place?”

“You mean my room?” He laughed breathlessly.

“No, Bridgeport. I’m tired of this place. I wanna go home.”

“Are you sure?” He pushed some buttons on his treadmill and it started to slow down.

Dimitri sat down on the bed next to me. “You really wanna leave?” He asked sadly.

“Yea, I miss my family.”

“Are you ready though?” I had told him about what happened with Cherry, and even though I was still really torn up about what happened, I accepted it. I realized my mom was right, it wasn’t my fault and it wasn’t something I knew how to control. I explained this to him, and for some reason he looked upset.

“Is everything okay?”

“I guess I’m just gonna miss you.”

“I’m sorry Dimi. Maybe I’ll come back some day.”

“Jazz, I’ve got a plan, to help the Fae that live here. I wasn’t gonna tell you for a few weeks, but I need you to at least know before you leave.”

“What’s the plan?” I was intrigued.

“Well, today I went to my parents house and asked my father to give me a job at the council. If I can gain his trust, he’ll give me the family fortune and the council to me instead of my brother. Once I’m in charge, I can change everything. I can make it so the Fae can have the same rights as the vampires.”

“That’s pretty genius, but that’s gonna take quite a while.”

“I know, but I’m committed.”

“Do you really want to be associated with what they believe in? Do you really want everyone thinking you think Fae deserve less then Vampires?” I asked. He didn’t respond for a while.

“No, that’s why I’m gonna take charge as soon as possible. If I show my father I’m competent, maybe I can convince him to take an early retirement.”

“Will that work?”

“Most likely.”

“Then I guess I’ll stay for a while longer, I wanna make sure you’re gonna be okay.” I smiled at him. I didn’t wanna stay, but I knew I would feel guilty leaving him right now. Going home was gonna have to wait.

“Come on, why not?” Hawthorn begged. Throughout the months I’ve been here, Hawthorn and I had been somewhat seeing each other. What I mean by that is that he only really talks to me when he wants to make-out or have sex. I was getting tired of it, it was one of the reasons why I wanted to leave so badly.

“I’m not in the mood, alright?” I sighed and scooted further away from him.

“I can get you in the mood, baby.” He whispered seductively in my ear. I cringed away from him.

“I doubt it.”

“Please?” He laid his hand against the small of my back.

“Just be fast, alright?” I gave in, even though I really didn’t want to. But giving in was better than him complaining all night.

“Thanks babe.” He pulled my into a stiff, awkward kiss. Kissing Hawthorn was nothing like kissing Ash, mainly because I actually loved Ash.

Hawthorn rushed off to the bedroom before I even opened my eyes.

“I really don’t wanna do this.” I was already half naked but I just wasn’t in the mood.

“Babe, don’t do this to me. Come on.”

“I just don’t want too right now, it had nothing to do with you.” I sighed.

“You are so fucking selfish, you fucking little mutant.”

I was taken aback by his sudden little outburst. He jammed his finger at my face and continued yelling at me.

“You’re a selfish little bitch who only gives a shit about her own wants. What about me? Don’t you want me to be happy?”

“Of course I do, but I don’t think forcibly having sex with me would make you happy.”

“Why do you always have to talk back?” He was screaming now, I wouldn’t be surprised if the neighbors complained. Hopefully the police wouldn’t be called, or else I’d be dead meat.

“Because, I’m not just a fucking sex object! I know that’s all you want me for, but that’s not what I am.”

“FUCK YOU.” He yelled, before winding up his fist and plowed it right into my face.

As I fell to the ground with a hard thump, I couldn’t help but wish I was back home in Ash’s comforting arms.

Jasmine Fae Chapter 7: Gentlemen’s Club

“Hey Jasmine, how’re Mia’s clothes fitting?” The day after I arrived, Dimitri brought me a box of his sister’s old clothes. It’s been a few days since I arrived at Bridgeport. I hadn’t left the house since and I didn’t want too. Hawthorn’s conditions required me to get a job, and for fairies there weren’t a lot of options. I could either strip on a stage for fat, balding vampire old men, or I could clean snobby vampire mansions. Neither of them were appealing.

“For the last time Dimi, it’s Jazz.” I called him by the nickname I came up with for him. He chuckled.

“Fine, Hey Jazz, how’re my sister’s clothes fitting?”

“Awesome, thanks.” I smiled at him. I was really grateful for everything he’d done for me.

“Um. can I sit?” He asked nervously.

“Sure, is everything okay?”

“Well,” He started as he flopped down onto my bed, making the whole thing shake. “Hawthorn’s getting a little impatient. He wants you to make a decision.”

I was worried that’s what this was about. I chewed my lip nervously. “What do you suggest I do?”

“Wait, you want my opinion?” He looked shocked.

“Yea, is that weird?”

“No, it’s just that no one’s ever asked for my opinion.” He laughed sadly. My heart broke for him.

“Well, I’m asking for it now.”

“Honestly, I hate to say this but I think you should go towards stripping. Being a servant would mean you’d have to work near people, and they don’t allow sunglasses with those jobs. With stripping, you can wear whatever you want as long as it’s provocative. And besides, no one would be looking at your eyes.” He blushed.

“That makes sense. Not exactly my dream job, but I’ll deal.”

“I’m really sorry, I know this sucks.”

“Hey, it’s fine. It’s not that bad, I’m not gonna stay here forever.”

“Where are you gonna go after this?” He asked.

“Dunno, probably back home, or maybe I’ll try and find another place. I’ll have to see.”

“Oh, okay.” He started to get off the bed, then stopped. “Oh yea, I work at a club, so I bet I could get you a job there.”

“Thanks Dimi.”

“No problem.” He said as he jumped off the bed. “We’ll go tonight, okay?”

“Sounds good.”

It was a Monday night, so no one was really out tonight. Dimitri didn’t have to worry about anyone seeing us together as we walked to the club. We walked in silence most of the way there, but that was interrupted when we approached the back of the club. A muffled scream came from beside us.

I glanced to my side and saw something I’ll never be able to un-see. An older vampire was kneeling over a fairy, and he was drinking her blood.

“Oh my god.” I whispered, I was afraid if I screamed, he would hear me. “Should we do something?” I asked Dimitri quietly.

“There’s not much we can do.” He hung his head and led me away.

“Stay here, I’ll go talk to my boss.” He said, before rushing off inside.

I leaned against the wall of the club. I could feel the bass thumping against my back as I waited. I hated that he left me out here, right next to that horrible man and that poor girl. I couldn’t hear her screaming anymore, and I figured she was dead.

It wasn’t long before I heard footsteps. I couldn’t exactly place which direction they were coming from, but I didn’t have to wonder for long. The man who was hunched over the girl came running out from behind the club. I pressed myself against the wall, I wished I could just disappear through it.

He ran right past me, not even giving me a second glance. I exhaled, not even realizing I was holding my breath.

“Hey Jazz.” Dimitri startled me.

“Dammit Dimi, don’t scare me like that.”

He chuckled. “C’mon, My boss said you can work here. Just pick a pole and give whichever girl is working it a break.”

“I’ve never done this before.”

“Yea, but you’ll catch on.” He spun on his heel and headed for the front entry.

The bouncer’s at the door were both human, and when I entered the club I saw even more humans. I’ve never been near them in my life, and it was nerve-wracking. They were all terrible creatures, and if they found out what I was, I’d be dead. This made my job a lot harder.

I didn’t want Dimitri and Hawthorn to watch me, they were both bar-tending tonight and I didn’t want to embarrass myself in front of them.

So my only option was the pole furthest from the bar. Sure, it was still visible from there, but the view was obstructed.

“Hey, mind if I take over for a bit?” I asked the pink-haired fairy who was sliding down the pole.

“Sure, I could use a break.” She giggled. “It’s all yours.”

I approached the pole cautiously. I had no idea what to even do with it, I’ve never really paid attention to how strippers dance. I glanced to my side, and realized that the only person in my section was the man from outside. Great.

I grasped the pole as tight as I could with clammy palms. The only way I would survive this night was keeping my feet on the ground. There was no way I could do the crazy moves the girls around me were doing.

I just had to wing it.

The next morning I had the apartment to myself. I had no idea where Dimitri and Hawthorn were, but I was pretty sure they weren’t home. So I made myself comfortable on the couch and watched some television. Last night was exhausting. I had no idea how out of shape I was until I had to keep dancing for hours at a time. It was definitely the longest night of my life.

“Morning.” Hawthorn said from the hallway. Guess I wasn’t home alone after all. He was shirtless, revealing his heavily tattooed body. I couldn’t help but get a little turned on at the sight of him.

“Watcha watching?” He asked as he flopped down on the sofa next to me.

“Some human gardening show. It’s kinda pointless.” He laughed.

“Yea, their shows are pretty pointless.”

“How was your first night at the club?”

“A lot harder than I thought.”

“Don’t worry, you’ll get the hang of it.”

“Thanks. How long have you worked there?” I asked, it couldn’t hurt to get to know him.

“Since high school, I had to start working after my parents died in a car accident.”

“I’m sorry to hear that.”

“It’s alright, it happened almost twelve years ago.” He smiled at me. “What about you, what’s your deal?” His question reminded me of Ash, and how he asked about my story on our first date. My heart ached, I couldn’t help but wonder how he was doing, and if he’d moved on yet. We agreed that we’d see other people until I return, if I ever did.

My answer for Hawthorn was similar to the one I gave Ash. “There’s not much to tell.”

“Oh come on, you showed up here on a boat a few days ago, you’re the only hybrid ever, there has to be something.” His answer was eerily similar to the one Ash gave me. This was all too weird for me.

“There’s not much to tell.” I repeated. He pulled his legs onto the couch and faced me.

“Fine, don’t tell me.” He whispered seductively. Part of me wanted to slap him, but another part of me wanted to kiss him.

The latter part won.

Hey guys, so I’ve been trying to get my graphics to look nicer, and I was wondering if anyone knows of any good hq mods. Thanks in advance and sorry this chapter is kinda short, I haven’t been feeling my best lately, but hopefully I’ll be back on track soon 🙂
